A total disappointment. The rate was 10$ higher than advertised "because of new year", and I was told that only the more expensive rooms were available. No pick up in Hoi An. Nice settings, but the room was cold and no way to warm it up. I decided to take a warm bath to try get warm, and the water turned cold
after 3 minutes. Could not even wash myself properly. Lights so dim in the room that I could not read a book. Staff doesn't care and doesn't know what to do when a problem arises, all they say is "send someone to check" and the guy that shows up is invariably useless. I thought I would have internet connection: yes, but only from the lobby (be prepared to share area with smokers). From the room, forget it. No point in asking the staff about this, they would not even know what is "wireless". I guess it's an ok place if you want a "romantic" setting, are prepared to pay above average and don't expect much service.

We stayed at Ancient House Resort in Feb 2005 as part of a package tour. Although we had booked the "standard" accommodation package, we were most surprised with the exceptional service and friendly staff, cleanliness, and the pleasantly quaint rooms and gardens. This is a resort we would love to return to, and would recommend it highly to our friends. It truly is a gem among hotels.

You will hardly find a more tastefully designed hotel in Vietnam. Rooms, garden, pool and restaurant are simply a pleasure. There is a free minibus shuttle to the historic center of Hoi An and to the lovely sandy beach. Excursions can be arranged. All the staff are very friendly and have good knowledge of English language which is not so common in Vietnam.

The hotel is good value for money. Rooms are inexpensive and conveniently located. The hotel does provide free shuttle buses to town and the beach, which was very useful.
