There was a bit of a love-hate relationship with this hotel. Loved the location on the river at night when we could sit on the public balcony and enjoy a drink, lights and river. The hotel is near the market but the hotel's street is not too busy. Hated the location at 4am in the morning when all of the river workers started up their boats and began work...unbelievably noisy.
A basic hotel with basic services - rooms are minimalist, breakfast is minimalist and can take an extraordinarily long time to receive, reception is not overly talkative. Nevertheless a safe and clean hotel to stay in.

This hotel is in a great location, very close to the main market and easy walking to all shopping and restaurants.  It is also very quiet in the night. However this hotel is very old and tired, and it shows.  Our first rooms smelled very musty and the shower was broken.  We were given another room.  This one stinked of old cigarette smoke, fortunately there was a fan.  There was no water pressure in the shower and we had to bathe in a trickle of water.

We specifically requested a deluxe room with a balcony.  The room faced a public veranda with no private access from our room. Not acceptable.
This hotel is poor value and the room was simply not worth the $25 we paid. Unfortunately it was one of the best rooms in the hotel.

The price we paid was more than that listed, but it was still good value. We took the river view room and ended up staying 3 nights instead of 1! Breakfast in the front foyer was lovely as it had a view to the street but was shady, airy and relatively peaceful. Girls at reception were very friendly and helpful. Great location near the market and all the cafes and shops. Would highly recommend this hotel.
