Absolutely superb Hotel with outstanding service, public areas and
dinning. We were upgraded on two occasions to the executive floor with
side by side rooms for our children. We hosted two dinners for our
Vietnamese colleagues and the hotel staff did a superb job on both
occasions, arranging everything in an elegant, but friendly setting.
Our rooms had all the amenities we needed and the high speed internet
service was efficient, the business center excellent, taking care of my
teaching slides and materials. The public areas were great to welcome
visitors and the bar area was large, accomodating and private enough to
conduct business. We refer people to stay at this hotel.

Of all the Sheraton's, Mariott's, Shangri La's and other Hilton's that I've stayed in, the room decor here was by far the nicest, and it was all topped off by an incredibly comfortable bed. Inside of the hotel they have a sports bar and two restaurants, which offer very tastey food. The lobbey is impressive and they have a lovely string quartet that plays nightly. There is an exotissimo tour agency right in the lobbey that offers some very nice tours (Please do go see Ha Long Bay if you visit Hanoi). While I took the tours offered by exotissimo in house, they're quite pricey and you can get the same tour by an outside company for a fraction of the cost.
The hotel location is good for sightseeing. If you are willing to brave the traffic in Hanoi (it took me a day or two to get up the nerve to cross the street) the touristy shopping district, the Temple of Enlightenment (I might have the name confused with something else. This is the oldest University in Vietnam) and the National Military History Museum are all nearby.

All the first-class comforts and amenities that you would expect from a Hilton. Large rooms and helpful, well-trained staff. Within short walking distance to the sites in the old city. Several touts linger around the
perimeter of the hotel, but they aren't too aggressive.

Well, this is the Hilton, so I think it needs no introduction. We stayed here since hubby's hilton card got us a free upgrade to the executive floor. Over there, you'll get free drinks round the clock + usage of internet. Quite a cool deal.
Umm, maybe not so cool. This only encouraged hubby to check on his emails and work around the clock. So much for a holiday!
Cost
USD 99 for an exec room + internet + drinks round the clock + breakfast. Book online for better discounts.
