Mr. Christopher Day
A pleasant hotel in the midst of a sprouting business area , surrounded my pricey hotels , yet quaint and mellow . On a small street. Single rooms are a bit small in size , not enough room to stay in a longer period than 4 days . Decent size breakfast on 8th floor . Quick Elevator , but must climb 12 steps to get to it . Lobby is a/c a bit small sitting area , Internet was decent , but not a fast speed. Some Australian\'s staying their often 1 couple stays their year round .

The location was good - around corner from Dong Khoi, close to wharves and tourist sights. Allowed early check-in in lieu of next day's breakfast.  Only access is via a tall staircase to front door so not invalid-friendly.
In 2 superior rooms the air-con was ineffective, 1 room had no hot water most days while the other had mice?? running around in the ceiling. TVs did not work. Wall fans were only relief from heat.
The rooms did not feel at all secure from rear outside entry and dirty handprints around windows did not nothing to alleviate those feelings.
8th floor festaurant is small (photo not taken in this hotel), very hot (no air-con), food choice is limited and sparing. The escape pipe is located at one end of the restaurant and I would not want to rely on it. One computer only at reception.
If location and price is your main concern then this hotel will suffice.
If quality food, space, light and airy rooms, and a pool (some days a necessity) are important then look elsewhere!

An acceptable hotel with good room rates. Room size is acceptable to Asian physique but may be a little cramp for Caucasians. Very caring and helpful staff.
It's cheaper to hire a taxi  directly at the airport (US$6), than booking the airport transfer through the hotel US$16.Not handicap friendly. You need to climb up a flight of stairs to the hotel lobby. My husband who is a stroke patient had to struggle up and down the stairs daily.

My wife and I lived at the Thang Long for 12 months. We always stay there when we return. Great location. Great staff. Great value for money. We strongly recommend, particularly for a long stay.

Mr. Nick Shirley from Horsham, Australia

We stayed at the Thang Long for 2 nights May 08. For the price it is pretty reasonable but I wouldn't stay again as I'm sure there are better deals in Saigon. Staff were pleasant and room was clean but very smoke tainted when we arrived. Room very small ( Deluxe) view of street but no balcony, everything about hotel felt cramped; breakfast was ordinary. We spent 3 weeks in Vietnam & this was our worst hotel; however still good value for money.

Fantacic experience staying at the Thang Long.
Great people up stairs preparing breakfast also on the counter. Very helpful with tours and directions. Great location walking distance to Ben Than Market and hydrofoils.
Thanks for the memories! Will be back again.

Mr. John Russell

Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. Every one of you did your job perfectly. The room was clean. The people at the front desk helpful. You all made my stay in Sai Gon a memorable time. I will always stay with you when I return.

Mr. Patrick Yeoh
Congratulations on running an excellent hotel - very clean and young but professional staff. My friends and I from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and another from Munich, Germany stayed there from Dec 23rd & 24th, and Dec 30th through Jan 2nd. I was in Room 702 on both occasions.

We are impressed by your staff - the smiling lady who runs the cafe upstairs and the quiet but very efficient and helpful housekeeper. Unfortunately, on the day I left the housekeeper was unwell, so I did not have the chance to thank her but conveyed the same via the cafe lady.
Your choice of front desk personnel is excellent - Ms Huong, Minh and Sang. Always smiling and helpful, and very diligent. They are very genuine and sincere in handling your customers. Their potential to grow and expand in the hospitality industry is tremendous. And I sincerely hope that you take very good care of them and help them plan their career paths. They are bright, young and full of positive energy. It was always fun seeing them again after a few days of traveling outside Saigon, or even after a long day of walking and shopping. Returning to the Thang Long Hotel, Dist., was always like being welcomed home. Irrespective of the time.

If and when any of my traveling friends are planning to visit Saigon, truly, I would not hesitate to recommend your hotel to them. So conveniently located. Hopefully, you will extend the same special rates to them.
With Tet fast approaching and with it "Bonus" time, my friends and I are convinced that these three young and professional staff of yours, truly, deserve and accordingly, should be duly rewarded for their efforts. Their style of public relations can only be due, less to textbooks, but more to their positive attitude and passion in what they do.
In time to come, with further training and encouragement, they will continue to grow. Sang is a bit shy but this may be due to his discomfort level in English. He should be encouraged to develop this area.
What more can I say, except that after passing through the usual bureaucratic channels at the airport, it is just so very refreshing and welcoming to experience the graciousness and charm of Vietnam through these young people. So rewarding!

I am just writing to you to let you know how much my guest and I enjoyed staying at your hotel. The rooms from the VIP suite to the superior rooms were all neat, tidy and very comfortable. But there is one thing that really made my stay at your hotel so much more enjoyable. And that is your staff.
From our speed demon ironing ladies on the 8th floor, the breakfast lady with the big smile, and the boys and girls that greet you with a huge smile at the front desk just made our short break with you so very pleasurable.
