Footprint offers a three-day tour that includes boating into all three lakes, some short walking in the Ba be National Park and staying in a traditional stilt house of the Tay ethnic minority.  Day 1: Ha Noi - Ba Be (L, D)
Departure for Ba Be, passing through the mountainous region of Tonkin - Thai Nguyen. There are superb landscapes with the rice fields in terrace, the paddle wheels in bamboo on the two sides of the river. Have lunch on road. Upon arrival at Cho Ra, take a boat on Nang river that slips in a cultivated country before penetrating in a landscape of chalky cliffs whose flank are characterized by small wild gardens, where hang the lianas and its long roots in quest of earth. Then enter into the Puong Cave. The river flows, making up a wonderful site where you can enjoy the stalactites on foot of this pothole. Continue going by boat to Pac Ngoi - a village of Tay ethnic. The Tay lives on fishing, rice and corn cultivation. Their stilt houses with the thatched roofs disperse in the austere surrounding landscapes. Have dinner and overnight at the inhabitant.
Day 2: Boating - Return Hanoi (B, L)
After breakfast, visit Ba Be National Park then take a car back to Ha Noi . Have lunch at ChoRa town, with an optional visit the ATK Zone (Militarize Zone) on the way back to Ha Noi. Arrive at HaNoiaround 17:30.

Day 1: Hanoi - Ba Be Lake

Pick-up from your hotel at 7.00 am, we leave for Bac Kan. During the 6hour-drive, we will drop in at Thai Nguyen city for one hour visit to Vietnam museum of Ethnology (take a coffee break here if you like). For about 3 hours ahead before noon that we can arrive at the destination, we will stop at Bac Kan town for lunch (just a good local food stall). Then, until 3.00 pm, we arrive to the village of Tay minority people inside the Ba Be National Park. Check-in our homestay and refresh by a short leisurely walk in the park around, maybe some swimming if the weather permits. Back home for dinner, then a talk of local culture or custom before bedtime.

Day 2: Ba Be Lake (B, L, D)
Wake up by the bird chirping, this will be the scarce moment of tranquility that we feel the isolation from the cities bustling and very close to nature. Breakfast then start discovering the subtle and imposing beauty of the area just on the local boat. We glide along the lakes, river and through the pretty cave to a powerful waterfall, the whole journey offers great natural scenery. After lunch at a food stall nearby the waterfall, we boat back into the tranquil Ba Be lakes for its majesty, great and so fresh swimming here. Trek after that through the ethnic minority villages back our home. Dinner then sleep the second night at the house on stilts.

Day 3: Ba Be - Hanoi ( B, L)
Again, take the moment of fresh air in the morning. Do the breakfast leisurely before taking last walk into the park (A bike or motorbike ride alternatively is also a great fun). Do the check-out, say goodbye to the host and leave this small village for Hanoi by 10.00 am. If we are lucky to be on Sunday, take a chance to visit kermis - a typical local market in highland areas. Take lunch on the way, we arrive at Hanoi by around 5.30 pm.

Back to Bac Hafor lunch. Check-in at a hotel in Bac Ha. After a rest, trekking about 5 km ofmountain path to Ban Pho Village - home of Flower H'Mong people, get intouch and witness their traditional life style, habit and customs.
