The Cu Chi Tunnel system had been created long time back, from 1948 to assist Viet Minh in the combat with French. And it was continuing built over 25 years later. It was an underground city with living areas, kitchens, storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers. In places, it was housed up to 10,000 people who virtually lived underground for years.... getting married, giving birth. During the American War the entire area of Cu Chi was designated a free fire zone and was heavily bombarded. From 1988, two sections of tunnels have been open for visitors. Cao Dai is a mixture of Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism and Confucianism. In this religious, Buddha and the Christian God are believed to both exist as deities, but Cao Dai is the third, highest deity. First found by Ngo Van Chieu in 1923, by 1930 there were half a million followers and over 2 million now.

In the morning, we are drive forward Tay Ninh, to see the ornate temple of Cao Dai and attend the fantastic mid-day service when the followers fill the hall wearing colored robes, a symbol of the curious combination of the Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism.

My Tho is the capital city and municipality of the Tien Giang Province in the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam. It has a population of approximately 160,000.

As the regional capital, My Tho is the main market dealing in all the produce from the region as well as fish & seafood from My Tho's large ocean going fishing fleet. The very large & exuberant market is one of South Vietnam's biggest sources for dried fish & other dried seafood products such as Kho Muc - dried squid. At nighttime the market is dedicated to the dealing & sorting of Mekong river fish -particularly catfish for HCMC's wholesale markets. Produce especially fruit & vegetable is delivered by boat directly to the market.

It is a popular starting point for tourists to take a boat trip on the Mekong River.

Cai Be Floating Market is a famous place in Mekong Delta; here the Tien River forms the border between Tien Giang, Vinh Long and Ben Tre Provinces. Every day, approximately 400 - 500 boats filled with fruits, vegetables and other products anchor a long the banks of the river, waiting for traders and customers. The merchandise sold in each boat is hung on a high pole in front of the boat as a sample to attract customers from a distance.

For those with just a short time, this trip provides an overview of this typical Vietnam. On the way you can see the green paddy fields stretching towards the horizon. After arrival in Cai Be, boats take you to visit the floating market with sellers and buyers bargaining and exchanging their goods from their boats. Next, a boat rides on the maze of shady canals to arrive at a local orchard to enjoy the local tropical fruits and to see the daily activities of local people. Then you will enjoy riding bicycles or roaming through the village to have a look at several local product making shops. After a stop in Vinh Long city a bus will take you back to Saigon with a stop at a Bonsai garden in My Tho. Back to Saigon in the late evening
