Showcasing a barbecue and views of the river, Topas Riverside Lodge is located in Tac Ai. Located deep in the remote Sapa Valley with a beautiful river running in front of the lodge and green forest just behind you don’t find a better location for staying overnight in an old traditional minority village, in the heart of the Vietnamese mountains. Topas Riverside Lodge is a boutique lodge infused with charm and family spirit, situated in the wild jungles of Hoang Lien National Park, connected to quaint Nam Cang Village by a wooden suspension bridge across a busting river. This new lodge is built and owned by a Red Dao minority family. The area is brand new to visitors so prepare to whiteness the real and remote Vietnam when we go beyond the normal tourist routes, the surprised but friendly looks of local minority people, the children who swim in the river next to your lodge and to be welcomed to private homes as the local mountainous hospitality is unique. Nam Cang minority village is located in 800m and deep in the heart of the famous Hoang Lien mountain range in northern Vietnam. Well known for its thousands of beautiful rice fields, many colorful minority tribes and Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina (3.143m).
Situated in 1500m Sapa town is the biggest and most known destination for travelers in the mountains, with its traditional minority market and old French colonial church is it not to be missed. But do you want to experience the “real” and rural life of the mountains in Nam Cang, you must continue down into Sapa Valley, pass by minority villages of Black Hmong , Tay, Xa Pho and finally arrive in Nam Cang after 36km. The sister property to Topas Ecolodge, Topas Riverside excels in providing cultural engagement with 5 different ethnic minority villages, access to lush nature at your doorstep, chances for active adventures, a place to reset during monthly wellness retreats, and locally-inspired cuisine prepared with Vietnamese flavors and international standards.
14 homey rooms are spread between the two floors of our lodge, featuring comfortable bedding and ensuite bathrooms with tiled floors and steaming hot rain showers. There are two river view rooms on each floor; the second floors rooms offer more privacy while the first floor is more suitable for early risers and guests with mobility issues. Each room is named after a spice found locally in the area, from galangal and citronella to turmeric and honey.
