Good: "From the moment you are welcomed on board under a shower of rose petals you can be assured of a truly memorable experience cruising the waters of Halong Bay with Bhaya. This welcome set the tone for the whole cruise. At all times staff were smiling, helpful, courteous and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
Our vessel, the Bhaya Cruise ,is designed in the traditional wooden junk style which adds to the whole experience of cruising amongst spectacular rock formations.

Under the excellent care of Cruise Director, Ronald, and Ops Manager, Edgar, we were treated like royalty. They went out of their way to make everyone welcome, circulating amongst the guests ensuring all were comfortable and ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the cruise.

It's quite a trek from Hanoi to Halong, so if you can, the 2night/3day cruise option is the way to go. With Bhaya you get the bonus of transferring to a smaller boat to explore quieter, more picturesque areas of the Bay on the middle day. This was one of the highlights of the cruise. (It can get quite busy at scenic spots on the Bay with all the different cruise boats jockeying for position. We only saw a couple of other small boats on our excursion.)

Different activities are offered depending on the prevailing conditions. We were extremely lucky to have just the 2 of us on board for the day-it was like our own private boat! Capt.Mr.Ha took us around some amazing areas, Cook Mr Hung prepared a delicious and abundant lunch and the other staff members on the boat ensured we were well looked after, esp.many thanks to our kayak tour-guide, it was great fun and the swimming was good too.
The standard of the food provided was excellent. In particular, the beef fillet offered in the evening meal was cooked to perfection. Delicious!

The sundeck hosted many great activities: from early morning tai-chi (the rocks in the early morning light are ethereal), to cooking demonstrations, to just enjoying the passing scenery. A table for two on the open deck adjacent to the dining room is perfect for taking in the views.

With so many operators offering tours in this area, with differing standards of service and amenities offered, we were so glad we chose Bhaya for our cruise.

We would not hesitate in highly recommending them to other travellers.

Good: "We took a 3 day/2 nights tour with Bhaya. We had booked a Royal Cabin . Our cabin was very comfortable and the food was wonderful. The weather was cold whilst we were there, but both the cabin and dining area had heaters which kept us warm. If travelling to Halong Bay at this time of year, do remember to take warm clothes and waterproofs! The highlight of our trip was the kayaking and the visit to the Surprise cave. Try to get to the cave early before it gets too busy. Because we were on a 3 day tour this allowed us to spent time in Lan Ha Bay and we really appreciated the tranquility there after Halong Bay which was very crowded in comparison. If you do have time for an extra night's stay, it's well worth it.

Bhaya Cruises were amazing! Staff very attentive. I get seasick but was 100% OK! Very calm waters! I would recommend a 1 night cruise as it is a long 4 hour drive from Hanoi
